“While the rest of the group continued reading by themselves books from our library, I sat with a child for a one-on-one session and taught him the ABC. I did not have to work too hard, he listened to me with great interest and with endless attention.
The child eagerly sipped every drop of knowledge I could give him; he was going over everything again to himself to understand the material.
At the end of the lesson, when the rest of the group finished reading the books themselves, everyone stopped to listen to the same boy who at the beginning of the lesson was so embarrassed and only looked for a place to hide because he could not read, read the last page of the book on his own.
They all cheered!”
